FC #1: Fonzie

Dear Fonzie:

You've been on my mind...

You were one of my first favorite fictional characters. As a kid, I watched Happy Days regularly and thought you were the coolest guy — with the most perfect hair — in the world.

Thank you, Arthur Fonzarelli!

Thank you, Henry Winkler, for portraying Fonzie so beautifully!

Love...

We spent a lot of time together later, too, when I came back to Iran for a visit after having spent a couple of years in the United States. You spoke to me in English: you were fluent in the language and my Farsi was a little rusty. I was a little over six years old. My maternal grandfather had passed away, and my mother wanted to go to his funeral, so we flew from Washington D.C. to Tehran, Iran. My parents didn't want me to see a funeral, so they sent me to Mashhad to stay with Mamanbozorg and Bababozorg and all my aunts and uncles who were living with them, including you. That was my first time getting ...

Sol Müller

Dear Sol: You've been on my mind... We met on Twitter a few years ago, and you immediately got my attention because of your tireless support. Thank you for all the retweets, and thank you for always supporting me. You are a kind soul. I recently read a book you wrote, and reading even only one aspect of your life in your memoir was enough to confirm what I already knew. You are an intelligent and lovely person, and I am so fortunate to have met you. It's an honor for me to call you my friend. I appreciate you and feel grateful to have you in my life. I hope one day we meet in person. Love... Noosha Ravaghi
